3 Bonus Items For Your Bathroom

Feel like treating your home to a few new items to spiffy-up the place?

I find I’m always searching for little things that could make tiny differences around our home.  It can be convenient, fun, cute, and/or just super cool in that “I want that right NOW!” sort of way.  The trick to not going overboard with your purchases, however, is to put a day aside each month where you say to yourself  “I’m going to buy ONE thing for our home today”.  That’s it.  That’s 12 items a year that could just make everyday life a little easier or more fun.

Looking to spruce up your bathroom?  Here are a few ideas.

1. Bathtub Tray

This is such a great idea! I came across it at Déco Découvert (Quebec’s version I guess of Bed Bath and Beyond) and thought “Awesome! I totally need that”.  I for one am someone who loves to enjoy a nice relaxing bath at the end of a long day.

It’s great because it comes complete with book holder AND a slot to slide your wine glass in (not useful for all you stemless wine glass people).  Pretty convenient and fun if you ask me.

It’s not the cheapest item you can get (it goes for around $50), but I’m almost positive that you can get a similar one at a lower cost.

Also perfect if you’re looking for a gift for your girlfriend.  She may really appreciate the idea that you want her to enjoy her time and relax, also stating that she deserves it!

Looking for an accessory to go with this item?  Next time buy a wine glass used only for the bath (could be a nice plastic one if you’re afraid breaking the glass into your bath) or buy a few scented candles.

2. Memory Foam Bath Mat

bath matThis is a simpler item, less costly, and I find makes a huge difference in your bathroom.  Not only does it save you from from slipping when getting out of the tub (let’s face it, though – all bath mats do that), it provides an amazing comfort.

Imagine this.  You get home from a long day at work and take a quick shower before heading off to make dinner, do the dishes, finish the laundry, and preparing for work again the next day.  Your back hurts.  Your feet hurt.  You step out of the shower and suddenly it’s like you’re walking on a cloud.

Take a few seconds, minutes it you can, to stand there are feel the comfort on your sore feet.  It may not seem like much, but it’s amazing what the little things can do.  You may suddenly feel better, more relaxed.

Trust me, the little things sometimes are the best.  Even if you use it for only a second or two.

3. Shower Radio

shower radioAgain, something small but can be used to put you in a great mood!

You wake up in the morning all groggy, grumpy, and wondering how you’re going to make it through another day of work.  You sleepily walk to the bathroom, feel the cold ceramic tile under your feet (you should really get some slippers) and get into the shower.  You turn on the shower radio and set it to your favorite station, letting the warm water run over you.

Suddenly, the song “Play That Funky Music White Boy” comes on and you’re nodding your head to the beat.  Then you’re dancing, all the while trying not to slip (this is where you may need a non-slip mat in your tub) and singing into your shampoo bottle while blasting the volume.

And in those few seconds, you’re all of a sudden awake, refreshed, and feeling good about the day ahead.  Sounds nice, doesn’t it?  Yeah….you know it does.

Little things really do help…

It’s amazing how the little things in life and something as simple as a bath mat can make your life  just a little bit easier.  You may not even notice it.  Take a second to see how it affects you, your mood and your body.  You may be pleasantly surprised.

Enjoy!

See you tomorrow morning!

  1. I’ll take the bathtub tray if it comes with the book and alcohol. Loving your new blog by the way! I’m going to add it to my blogroll in a second. :)
