Do you ever find yourself wishing you were more organized? There are little things that you can do around the house to help push you into making things a little simpler in your life, saving time and space! Here’s something that I did at home to organize my pantry. It may seem like hardly anything, but even little bits of organization can help a messy pantry suddenly seem more orderly.
I hope this article helps and inspires!
I was so sick and tired…
of opening the box of Cheerios in the morning, just to have a whole bunch of them fall out while unclipping and unfolding the bag. No more huge boxes taking up space for nothing, no more bags of rice opening by accident and spilling everywhere….now we have food storage containers!
What I did (along with buying the actual containers) is I cut out the directions on how to cook the rice from the rice bag. It’s a great idea for people who have a terrible memory for those types of things and I would have been crazy not to do this! Also, now we won’t have to unfold the bag of rice every time we need to be reminded of how long to leave the rice cooking on the stove for. I even taped on the “how many cups for how many portions” part also. Very convenient.
Also, what I did was cut out not only the directions on how to make the couscous, but also the suggested way of preparing it (with certain ingredients, the amount of salt to add, etc) along with the name of the type of couscous we buy so we’ll remember which it is when it comes time to buying more. That way it’s there for whenever we need.
All in all, I am very happy with these containers! The pantry looks and feels a lot more organized and there also seems to be a lot more space, believe it or not. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner.
Need a few more ideas?
Another thought occurred to me that you could also put a whole recipe suggestion on the container as well. A quick, easy to make meal that everyone in your household enjoys, that way anyone can make it!
See you tomorrow morning!
