Similar Song Titles on Billboard Top 100

You know how they say history repeats itself?  Well, here is what I noticed about the top 100 hits chart on billboard.com

First off, take a look at Justin Bieber’s #9 slot.

Justin Bieber Featuring Big Sean

Justing Bieber – As Long as You Love Me

    Same title as:

Backstreet Boys – As Long as You Love Me

Or maybe you’re a fan of Train.  Their song comes in at #32

Train

Train – 50 Ways to Say Goodbye

Similar to:

Paul Simon – 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover

Then you Have Cher Lloyd at #17 (even the name is a rip off!)

Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd – Want U Back

Similar to:

Jackson 5 – I Want You Back

Next we have one that some of you may not know,
fun. comes in at #28

fun. Featuring Janelle Monae

fun. – We Are Young

Same title as:

The Moffatts (remember them?) – We Are Young

All before the top #50!  Very surprising that music is starting to repeat itself.  We’ve all seen sequels of movies, remakes of old films, and yes (of course) songs that sound similar (a good example is Aerosmith’s “Crying” and “Crazy”…even though it’s by the same artist).  But there are so many other “hooks” yet to be discovered, other titles to be used.  Originality seems to be going out the window sometimes.    Why not set yourself apart from things that have already been done?

Can you pinpoint any other titles on the Top 100 Billboard that have been used before? Or are very similar?
